6th Edition of the Largest National Railway Event – 10 Years of PFP

On May 21 and 22, 2025, the National Railway Museum in Entroncamento once again hosted the Portugal Railway Summit, the largest railway industry gathering in Portugal, organized by the Portuguese Railway Platform (PFP).

In this 6th edition, we proudly celebrated 10 years of PFP, a decade dedicated to promoting innovation, cooperation, and the sustainable development of railways in Portugal and across Europe.

The event brought together 800 participants, including experts, industry leaders, government representatives, and leading companies, to discuss key trends and challenges in the sector. Highlights included High-Speed Rail, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, Sustainable Mobility, Freight Transport, Safety and Cybersecurity, as well as new strategies for rolling stock.

The panels explored crucial issues such as:

• The future of high-speed rail connections between Lisbon, Porto, and Vigo and their impact on the regional economy;

• The integration of artificial intelligence in railway operations and maintenance;

• The importance of sustainability and ESG reporting in the sector;

• Intermobility solutions that connect passengers and freight through more integrated metropolitan networks;

• International case studies showing how railways are growing and transforming mobility across Europe.
  

With over 30 sessions and multiple networking opportunities, the Summit provided a privileged space for knowledge sharing, partnership building, and the creation of new business opportunities.
