The APNCF (Portuguese Association for Railway Standardization and Certification) recently hosted the Technical Standardization and Certification in the Railway Sector seminar on November 4, 2024. This online event gathered experts and stakeholders from the railway industry to discuss the technical standards and certification processes that are essential for the safety and interoperability of railway infrastructures.
The seminar featured presentations from key figures in international standardization, such as Hiroshi Tanaka, Chairman of ISO TC 269 (Railway Applications), and Cliff Cork, Chairman of CEN TC 256 (Railway Applications). Additionally, other speakers included representatives from the IQF (Institute of Railway Quality) and the PFP (Portuguese Railway Platform), providing insights into the ongoing efforts to enhance the regulatory framework for railway systems.
