1st day at PT Railway Summit

The opening of the 5th edition of the Portugal Railway Summit 24 was a true milestone for the national railway sector!

The event began with speeches from the vice-presidents of the PFP - Portuguese Railway Cluster Platform Association: Paula Alexandra Alvarenga and Manuel António Pereira, the President of the National Railway Museum, Manuel de Novaes Cabral, and the Mayor of Entroncamento, Jorge Faria.

The highlight of the morning was the arrival of the Secretary of State for Infrastructure at the Entroncamento Train Station aboard the VIP carriage, pulled by locomotive 5600. This locomotive, usually used in intercity trains, was adorned with the image of the 5th edition of the PORTUGAL Railway Summit, in partnership with CP - Comboios de Portugal, EPE.

The presence of these distinguished figures and the symbolic arrival of the Secretary of State underscore the importance of the topics to be discussed during the event, such as investments in the Lisbon-Porto-Vigo High-Speed connection, the acquisition of new rolling stock, and the expansion of metro networks.
