Have you heard about ISTrain?

The Portuguese Railway Platform Cluster Association (PFP) had the pleasure of getting to know the ISTrain project, the new student team from Instituto Superior Técnico dedicated to designing, building, and innovating in the creation of a competition train.

Combining engineering, creativity, and a strong team spirit, these young talents show us that with motivation and hard work, it is possible to turn ideas into motion — quite literally.

The presentation featured contributions from Hugo Magalhães – Professor and Researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico, Aliya May Magno – President of ISTrain, Maria João Teixeira – Vice-President of ISTrain, and Diego Araújo – Vice-President of ISTrain.

ISTrain is not just an academic project — it is a clear sign that the railway sector has a dynamic future in the hands of talents who are already building, testing, and accelerating.
